Acts 9:1-20; John 6:52-59
Saul was still breathing threats to slaughter the Lord’s disciples. The persecution of disciples of Christ could not have been possible were it not God who allowed it. As He used Judas to bring salvation, he uses the priests now. If the church deny you, what will the world do? Thus we have Saul seeking not only permission but blessing and support of the high priest. But all in all, the time had already come. God had already scattered the seeds of the good news to other parts of the world and the work of Saul now was not needed but the work of Paul was needed. Thus, Saul would have a metanoia and become Paul. God uses natural phenomenon. Lightning in blight day! How? That is how my God is mysterious. Paul was guilty of his misdeeds and that gave him more reason to clean up the mess. He was helped by a man of God and now he is among the apostles. He had not only eaten the bread of life but the real body of Jesus. He defended it not like the small minded Jews who thought Jesus is calling them cannibalist.
For sure, all that we are is need is life. Even if God want to give us that everlasting life through stones he can. He did that in bread. That bread us the Eucharist. Jesus is truly and really present, body and soul. This has been proved by quite a number of Eucharistic miracles in different parts of the world. I believe.
St. Theresa of Lisieux, pray for us.
